Safety in ADAS/AD – SOTIF, a risk-based approach

TÜV SÜD and Qualcomm propose a probabilistic approach to SOTIF assurance that combines qualitative hazard analysis, risk acceptance criteria and quantitative estimates of residual risk. The report distinguishes scenarios by the available degree of knowledge, discusses complementary V&V methods and illustrates the approach with a hypothetical advanced emergency braking system.
